Today Ms. Woyak's English Composition I (Mid-State Dual Credit Course) class spent the day on the UWSP Campus in Stevens Point working on three assignments for the class (i.e., Research Paper Proposal, Persuasive Research Paper, and an Annotated References Page). This is an annual trip that Ms. Woyak and Ms. Rink, our new TC librarian, take to allow some seniors to spend a day on a college campus, learn about finding resources, etc. Thank you to the UWSP librarian Mr. Dave Dettman for your hospitality, time, and expertise! We greatly appreciate it, and look forward to seeing you next year! It was a very successful outing!

Regional Champions!!

This morning the HS cross country team ran their final race of the season (Division III Sectionals) at Westfield HS. The weather was prime running weather, and the girls ran well on a difficult course.
Thank you to Mr. Peck for driving bus for us most of the season, the two other bus drivers at the beginning of the season, the ADs Ms. Congdon and Mrs. Rettler, the parents and families of the cross country team, Mrs. Helmrick, Mrs. Goldberg, and Ms. Graebel for covering Coach Woyak's classes on meet days, and thanks to the many fans who came out to support the team today and all season. We greatly appreciate it! It's amazing to see how the program has grown over the last six years since it was reinstated as a sport at Tri-County.
Good luck to Coach Rettler, Coach Beggs, and the Lady Penguins tonight for their regional championship match at home at 7 P.M. Make Penguin Nation proud!

2nd Grade @ Food & Farm Exploratory in Plover
These pics capture the joy, excitement, and engagement of our time at the exploratory center. 2nd Graders learned about pollinators and designed their own unique pollinators. They also learned about electricity, tested objects to see if they were conductors to light a light bulb, and worked on making a paper circuit. They explored the center with enthusiasm and had a great time cooking, shopping, farming, etc.. Students also had a great time at the playground at Lake Packawa. #2ndgradeROCKS #classof2035 #foodandfarm

Happy Halloween from TC ExCEL Play Group! Today's featured book was "The Spooky Wheels on the Bus" by J. Elizabeth Mills. We also danced to that song and did the Halloween Freeze Dance. The kiddos created their own handprint spiders and made ghosts out of bananas and chocolate chips! We had a few new faces, which was great to see. Please join us for our next play group on November 22nd at 9 am.

Lily Lehnigk is a junior in 2D Art 4 this semester. We held a mural design contest for grades 6-12. Many great designs were created. The selection was narrowed down and all staff and grades 6-12 were able to vote. Lily won and together with other high school students, we painted her mural design on a 4' x 4' board. Lily is a kind and creative person who created a kind and creative mural that hangs outside of our library and can be seen from the cafeteria and office. We are very proud of her artistic efforts!

October is National Farm-to-School Month, students at Tri-County enjoy a variety of local fresh fruit and vegetables daily throughout the year, when in season. Today students and staff enjoyed mashed potatoes and gravy with their popcorn chicken at lunch. The russet potatoes used to make the mashed potatoes (no instant mashed potatoes here) were grown by Midwestern Potatoes, students also enjoy them as baked potatoes. The students and staff at Tri-County also recently enjoyed roasted creamer potatoes grown by Taterland Farms. Thank-You again to all of our local growers that provide fresh local fruits and vegetables to the students of Tri-County.

Tonight the MS and HS cross country teams traveled back to Weyauwega-Fremont for the Central Wisconsin Conference Meet. Everyone ran well despite the cool and strong wind. Thank you to all of the fans, family members, etc., who cheered on the Penguins tonight, and thank you to all the parents, Mr. Peck for driving us, and a manager for their help tonight.
Tonight concluded the MS season, but the HS season continues next Saturday, October 26th, at Westfield HS. The girls will run in the Division 3 Sectional Meet at 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Detlor’s 2nd Graders are part of Wisconsin's Adopt a Cow Program. Last week, they learned that Vision Aire Farms, LLC in Eldorado, WI, is their host farm for this school year. Today, these enthusiastic 2nd graders got to officially meet their adopted Holstein calf, Lexi. Lexi was born on September 12th, weighing 110 pounds and standing at 29 inches. Farmer Janet will keep them updated every couple of months, filling them in on Lexi's growth, diet, and activities. They're charting Lexi's growth and are ready to learn more and watch her grow. These 2nd graders seriously couldn't be more excited! #adoptacow #lexithecalf #wisconsindairyindustry #agriculture #2ndgradeROCKS
