Good morning TC Families,
There are many students in grades 6-12 who are not registered for sports participation on our new Arbiter software. This takes place of the many sheets of paper that we have given out in the past. This includes the transportation, participation, concussion and emergency forms. Many do not have updated physicals on file either. Please make every effort to get your athletes register and up to date so they are able to practice and participate in school athletics if they so choose.
If you are unsure of your student's physical date, please reach out to Jody Congdon or Jessica Rettler at athleticdirector@tcpenguin.net
Sports Registration
August 13th - Freshman Day 8:30 am- 3:00 pm
August 14th-15th - Full Band Day 8:30 am-3:00 pm
Please wear real shoes; no flip-flops.
Please attend as much as possible!
Any appropriate post from local businesses or community members is appreciated. It does not have to be just about football. It's all about showing our school spirit.
We are happy to announce that Tri-County Elementary was selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP).
The goals of this grant program are to:
• Create healthier school environments by offering healthy choices.
• Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience.
• Increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption.
• Make a difference in children’s diets to impact their current and future health.
A fresh fruit or vegetable snack will be offered to your student 3 times per week. FFVP snacks will generally be served mid-morning /early afternoon, during milk break.
Teachers will provide nutrition education activities in the classroom to increase students’ knowledge of the health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables. The FFVP is an excellent way to supplement other wellness programs in the school that promote health, nutrition, and physical activity.
You can support your student’s efforts to increase his or her fruit and vegetable consumption in many ways. For example:
• Take your student grocery shopping. Let your student select a new fruit or veggie to try.
• Give your student options! Let your student choose which veggie to serve at dinner.
• Keep fruits and vegetables where your student can see them, such as on the counter.
• Take your student to a local farmers’ market and discover fruits and vegetables in season.
• Be a role model! Let your child see you regularly eating fruits and veggies.
• If you have questions, please contact me at paulalauer@tcpenguin.net or 715-335-6366 Ext. 900.
Sincerely,
Paula Lauer
